6 things you need to do to make your swimming pool for Spring! Spring is the season of joy, life and vigor. It heralds a new beginning after the long lull of winter. If you are in Australia, there is good news since we are moving into spring – the season of sun, mirth and laughter. Pool owners would be raring to re-open their pools and organize a pool party to celebrate the arrival of spring. Across the length and breadth of Australia, pool owners are busy readying their swimming pools which have been lying dormant due to the winter season. Here list of To Do Activities which we recommend our clients: in case you need professional assistance for the same, you can always get in touch with us! Drain and clear the pool cover of water and dirt: It is obvious that there would be a lot of deposit on the pool cover after a 3 month long winter. Use a pump to drain out the water which has accumulated on the top. Take professional help or engage two other helping hands to remove the pool cover. Dry the pool cover: Once the pool cover has been cleared off the debris, you need to sun dry the cover. Once it is sun dried, it needs to be sprinkled with an anti-mold powder to keep it fresh for the next season. Increase the water level of the pool: Increase the water level of the pool using a hose pipe. Make sure you fill the water till the brim level to ensure that it is fit for swimming! Be careful that you do not switch on the electrical systems of the pool while filling the pool after the long winter break. Reconnect your pool equipment: it is a good practice to disconnect all pool equipment before the start of winter. Filter, pump and heater are the most important components of a pool. You should reconnect it immediately once you decide to re-open your pool after winter. Remove the winter plugs: Kindly remove the winter plugs from the rest of the pool equipment. This is inclusive of the basic pool equipment, namely pump, filter, heater, booster, etc. Turn the system on: After, everything is in place; you can turn on the system back to the normal operating condition. Final Pool Ph Check: Check the PH level of your pool. The ideal readings should be as
  • pH: 7.4 to 7.6
  • Total Alkalinity: 80 to 120 ppm
  • Chlorine: 2.0 to 4.0 ppm
We can provide high quality test kits to help you asses the alkalinity level of your pool with utmost accuracy. Pool Busters is always ready to assist you to set up your pool for the spring season.
